Viewport

Fine positioning of the game picture on your screen. Use this when the picture is nearly right but not quite, sitting slightly off-centre, a touch too small, or showing a scrappy border along one edge that the original console would have hidden behind a television bezel.

Visible Options

Adjustment

Move the picture around the screen, stretch it wider or taller, and zoom in or out.

Cropping

Trim unwanted edges off the picture before it is enlarged to fill your screen.

Reset Viewport

Put every position, stretch, zoom, and trim value back to normal with one press of A. A good escape hatch if you have adjusted your way into a corner.

Quick Tips

  • Tap MENU on any row for a short explanation of what it does, and hold MENU instead to slide the menu out of the way and watch the game behind it.

  • Everything here sits on top of the Scaling Mode you chose on the Video screen, so get that roughly right first and come here for the final touches.

  • If you get lost, Reset Viewport always brings you straight back to where you started.
