Rumble, and how the sticks respond. These settings apply to every player at once.

Visible Options

Rumble

Whether the device or assigned controller vibrates when the core requests it. Pickles preserves the requested strength, including subtle effects, on hardware that supports variable rumble.

Stick Deadzone

How far the stick has to move away from the middle before the game notices, from 0% to 50%. Raise this if your character wanders off on their own while you are not touching the stick.

Stick Anti-Deadzone

Makes a small push count for more, so the stick still reaches its full range even after a deadzone has been set. Worth a nudge if the stick feels sluggish just off the middle.

Stick Sensitivity

How far a given stick movement travels in the game, from a gentle 50% to a twitchy 200%.

Invert Stick Y

Swap up and down on the stick, for games that look the wrong way round to you, or simply because you prefer it that way.

Quick Tips

  • Tap MENU on any row for a short explanation of what it does, and hold MENU instead to slide the menu out of the way and watch the game behind it.

  • Deadzone and Anti-Deadzone fix opposite problems. Deadzone ignores unwanted movement near the middle, Anti-Deadzone restores full reach just past it. Most sticks only need one of the two adjusted.
