Wi-Fi Network

Configure Wi-Fi and network connection details. These options provide full control over authentication, addressing, and connection behaviour—useful for networks that do not broadcast automatically or require specific parameters such as static IPs or private DNS servers.

Visible Options

Identifier

The SSID or name of the wireless network you wish to connect to. This identifies the access point and must match exactly, especially for hidden or secured networks. You can also press X to scan for networks.

Password

The password, or security key, required to join the selected wireless network. Leave blank for open networks that do not require authentication.

Hidden Network

Enables connection to a network that does not broadcast its SSID. When enabled, the device will attempt to connect even if the network is not visible in scans.

Network Type

Defines the connection mode for the network. Typically set to DHCP for automatic configuration, or Static for advanced users specifying static IP settings.

Device IP

The IP address assigned to the device when using manual configuration. This defines the unique address on the network and must not conflict with other devices.

Subnet CIDR

Specifies the network subnet mask in CIDR notation. This determines the range of valid IP addresses within the local network.

Gateway IP

The IP address of the network gateway or router used to access external connections. Required for internet access when using manual network settings.

DNS Server

Defines the Domain Name System (DNS) server address used to resolve website and service names. You may specify a local DNS server or a public one such as 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare) or 8.8.8.8 (Google).

Connect

Initiates connection to the configured network using the provided credentials and settings. Press it again to disconnect the device from the network. Press Y to save the current network to a profile.
