Button Mapping

Decide what each button on your controller actually does in the game. The list shows every button and stick direction the game can understand, one row each, and you tell MustardOS which of your own buttons should send it.

Useful when a game's default layout does not suit you, when you are using a controller whose buttons sit in a different order, or when you want jump on a different button.

Visible Options

Face Buttons

Rows for A, B, X, and Y. Highlight one, press A, then press the button on your controller you would like to use for it.

Shoulder Buttons

Rows for L1, R1, L2, R2, L3, and R3, set the same way.

Select and Start

Rows for the two small centre buttons, which many games use for pausing or bringing up a map.

D-Pad Directions

Rows for up, down, left, and right on the directional pad.

Stick Directions

Rows for each direction of the left and right sticks. Because these are ordinary rows, you can point a stick direction at a button or a button at a stick direction, which is how you give stick control to a game that only understands the d-pad, or vice versa.

Turbo

Press left or right on any row to make that input repeat automatically while you hold it, from a rapid tap all the way down to a slow pulse. Ideal for shooters that want you hammering the fire button.

Quick Tips

  • Press A on a row to set it, X to clear it so nothing sends that input at all, and Y to put it back to normal.

  • A row showing Macro: followed by a name is being driven by a macro. Turbo cannot be added on top of one, so change it from the Macros screen.

  • Cleared or remapped yourself into a corner? Reset Port on the previous screen puts every button on this player back to normal.
