Profiles
A profile gathers many settings into one choice. Apply a ready-made accessibility profile, a profile that was supplied with your device, or one you have saved yourself, and every setting it holds changes in one step.
When you apply a profile you choose whether to Merge it, which keeps every setting the profile does not mention, or Replace, which first returns those settings to their defaults. Your settings from before are kept, so Restore Previous Profile can always take you back.
Profiles never hold wireless network details, kiosk restrictions, Danger Settings or your passcode, so they are safe to share. Build your own with the Profile Builder.

Restore Previous Profile
Puts back the settings you had before the last profile was applied. Choosing it again swaps back. It only appears once a profile has been applied.
Reset to Default Profile
Returns every setting a profile can change to the way MustardOS ships it, after asking you to confirm. Network, kiosk, Danger Settings and device details are left as they are. A reset cannot be undone, so Restore Previous Profile is no longer offered afterwards.
Accessibility
A folder of built-in profiles grouped around common needs: Clear View, Low Vision and Large Print for reading, Calm Motion and Still Screen for movement, Steady Hands for control and confirmation, and Fewer Distractions for a quieter interface. Each changes only the settings for its need, so merging two of them together works well. These are part of MustardOS and cannot be removed.
Supplied Profiles
A profile that came with your device. It is read from a profile.conf file when the device starts for the first time, and applied before the installer appears. The file can sit at the top of the card or in its MUOS/profile folder, on either the main card or a second card. A wifi.conf file beside it can connect the device to a wifi network at the same time, as described in the Profile Builder.
Your Profiles
Profiles you have saved or copied into MUOS/profile. Folders you create there appear as folders, one level deep, and saving while inside one of them keeps the new profile in that folder. A folder named Accessibility is ignored, because that name belongs to the built-in profiles. Press X to remove a profile you no longer need.
Quick Tips
Press Y to save the settings you have changed from their defaults as a profile. Inside one of your own folders, the profile is saved in that folder.
Press MENU on any profile to read what it changes.
Keep your profiles on a second card with Storage, or include them in a Backup, to carry them to another device.
If a profile has a mistake in it, nothing is changed and a file ending in
_error.txtis written toMUOS/log/profile, listing each line that needs fixing and why.
