Set up a game for someone else to join. Give your session a name, decide how you want to play together, then start it and wait for your friend to arrive.

Visible Options

Status

What your session is doing right now, still being set up, waiting for a player, or up and running.

Host Name

The name other players see when they go looking for your game. Anything up to 48 characters.

Play Mode

Separate Players gives each of you your own controller in the game, which is what you want for two-player games. Play Together shares a single controller between you both, handy for taking turns at a difficult part.

Client Slots

How many other people are allowed to join you.

Host Port

The numbered doorway others use to reach you. Leave it alone unless you have been told to change it.

Host Session

Starts your session and begins listening for players. Once this is running, your friend can find you.

Pairing Code

An optional short code that a joining player must type in before they are let in.

Connection

How quick the link between the two of you is, in milliseconds. Smaller numbers mean the game feels more responsive for both players.

Quick Tips

  • Set a Pairing Code when hosting over the internet, so only the people you invited can join.
