Threaded Video

Toggle RetroArch's threaded video option for the selected content, working around cases where a core behaves better, or worse, with it enabled.

Choose Enabled or Disabled and press A to apply it to this piece of content only, X to apply it to every item in the current directory, or Y to apply it recursively to the current directory and everything below it.

Enabled

Switches on RetroArch's threaded video rendering for the selected content, which can improve performance on some cores at the cost of a small amount of added input latency.

Disabled

Switches off RetroArch's threaded video rendering for the selected content, favouring lower input latency over the potential performance benefit.

Quick Tips

• This is a workaround for cores that do not expose the threaded video option in a reliable way through RetroArch’s own menu, and may grow into a larger set of per content RetroArch options in the future.
